About Us
Building and Engineering Maintenance Services (BEMS) operates from Rockhampton, supporting healthcare facilities in the Rockhampton, Banana, Central Highlands, and Gladstone regions. Our team includes professional, administrative, operational, and skilled trades personnel delivering electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, horticulture, and fitting and turning maintenance services. We ensure healthcare assets remain safe, compliant, and reliable through preventive maintenance, statutory inspections, and a 24-hour corrective maintenance service.
Role Overview
- Prepare and evaluate surfaces by reviewing plans and repairing defects prior to painting.
- Apply superior quality paints, varnishes, and finishes to interior and exterior building surfaces using varied methods and tools.
- Conduct onsite preparations, protecting designated areas and erecting scaffolding as necessary.
- Estimate materials and project needs, mix paints to required finishes, and assist in cost-efficient project completion.
- Ensure a safe workplace by adhering to health and safety guidelines while performing maintenance duties and supporting the BEMS team.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a recognized trade or professional qualification with proper registration in the relevant field.
- Proven leadership skills in managing building trade teams, paired with excellent organizational and time management capabilities.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and administrative skills, capable of creating professional documentation and reports.
- Familiarity with specialized hospital facility standards and commitment to safety, compliance, and best practices.
- Experience or aptitude to quickly learn Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (including S4HANA) for managing maintenance records, reporting, and compliance.
Compensation and Benefits
The total remuneration package can reach up to $103,065 annually, which includes:
- An hourly wage ranging between $36.92 and $45.55.
- A 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.
- A 17.5% leave loading.
