Role Summary
The Owner role, based full-time on-site in Nairobi, entails formulating and implementing the company’s strategic vision, managing daily business operations, and ensuring attainment of financial goals and growth targets. Key responsibilities include nurturing important stakeholder relationships, steering business development initiatives, analyzing performance data, and making strategic choices regarding resource distribution and investments. The Owner leads and coaches the team, establishes operational policies and procedures, ensures adherence to local laws and industry regulations, and represents the company externally. This role also involves contract negotiations and discovering new market opportunities to foster sustainable expansion.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven background in business leadership or entrepreneurial ownership, successfully managing operations and stimulating growth.
- Advanced capabilities in strategic planning, budgeting, financial oversight, and performance evaluation.
- Expertise in handling stakeholder partnerships, negotiation, and alliance-building, preferably with experience in African markets.
- Strong leadership qualities including mentoring staff, resolving conflicts, and cultivating a high-performing inclusive team culture.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills suitable for engaging investors, clients, and regulatory authorities.
- Thorough knowledge of relevant regulatory and compliance frameworks within Nairobi and East African contexts.
- Ability to work on-site, multitask effectively, and adapt in a rapidly changing environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Finance, or a similar field required; advanced degrees such as an MBA are advantageous.
- Experience working in regional or pan-African markets, and familiarity with digital tools, data-driven decision making, and current business methodologies are preferred.
