Job description
Role overview
Stockport NHS Foundation Trust is hiring a Band 6 Outpatient Physiotherapist for the Integrated Outpatient Therapy service at Stepping Hill Hospital. This is a permanent post working 37.5 hours per week.
The position focuses on assessing and treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions in both adults and children referred through Surgery, Emergency Department, and GP pathways. The post requires someone who is self-driven, able to work independently, and comfortable contributing within a supportive multidisciplinary team.
What you will do
You will manage your own outpatient caseload and provide physiotherapy assessment and treatment across varied MSK presentations. The role also includes leading rehabilitation gym sessions, supporting assistants and students, and contributing to service improvement work and audit activity.
There will be regular opportunities to strengthen and expand your clinical practice through monthly in-service training, peer review, and clinical supervision. The team also supports ongoing professional development through an established appraisal framework.
Experience and working expectations
Recent and relevant continuing professional development is required. Prior experience in an outpatient physiotherapy setting is essential, while previous NHS experience would be an advantage. Strong communication skills are important, along with the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively.
