About the Service
You will be working at Saint Stephen's College in Upper Coomera, Queensland, as part of an OSHC setting.
Pay and Hours
The role offers an hourly rate of $43.48 plus 12% superannuation. An extra $4.13 per hour may also be payable under the Worker Retention Payment Scheme. After School Care runs from 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm. Work is scheduled Monday to Friday with guaranteed shifts on all school days. During Vacation Care, the role can involve flexible hours up to 38 hours per week. The position is close to home travel-wise. Paid professional development sessions are included, and retention payments are above award.
Role Overview
As the OSHC Service 2IC, you will help lead the service, plan engaging programs, and support day-to-day operations. The job involves creating fun, safe, and inclusive experiences for children while ensuring the service runs smoothly and meets quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging activities such as science experiments, sports events, arts and crafts, and other child-led programs.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive environment where every child feels supported and valued.
- Prepare nutritious snacks for children.
- Work with the Programs Engagement Manager on assessment and rating processes, with compliance support from the TEG Compass team.
- Build strong relationships with families, school leaders, and other stakeholders to support connected OSHC programs.
- Oversee the daily operations of the service so that everything functions efficiently and consistently.
What You Need
You should either hold or be studying toward an approved qualification in Early Childhood, Primary Teaching, School Aged Care, Youth Work, Community Services, or a related area. Suitable qualifications may include Diploma, Bachelor’s, or Master’s level study; you can confirm eligibility with the employer.
You also need a warm, approachable personality, a strong willingness to help, and the ability to connect quickly with children, educators, and school leadership.
Required or preferred checks and certifications include a valid Working With Children Check, Child Protection Training Certificate, First Aid, CPR, and Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management training, with willingness to obtain any missing items.
