Operations Team Lead (m/f/d)

Role overview

J&T Express Germany GmbH is hiring several Operations Team Leads (m/f/d) to strengthen its Berlin sorting center operations. This position focuses on taking responsibility for day-to-day site activities while guiding, supporting, and developing teams to deliver efficient and reliable logistics operations.

In this role, you will coordinate operational workflows, help maintain service quality, safety, and productivity standards, and serve as an important connection point between frontline staff and management. Your contribution will help the business meet operational goals and provide a strong customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate the daily work of a sorting center team.
• Keep inbound, sorting, outbound, and dispatch activities running efficiently.
• Track operational KPIs and take corrective action when performance falls short.
• Assist with staffing plans and shift rosters.
• Make sure safety, quality, and operating procedures are followed.
• Spot opportunities to improve processes and support ongoing improvement efforts.
• Provide training, coaching, and day-to-day development support to team members.
• Work closely with Operations Supervisors, fellow Team Leads, and other departments.
• Handle operational issues and escalations while helping the team achieve targets.

Requirements

• Background in logistics, warehousing, supply chain, transportation, or another operational setting.
• Prior experience leading a team or supervising staff.
• Good planning, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
• Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment.
• Practical, ownership-driven, and accountable working style.
• Experience monitoring KPIs and reviewing operational performance.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate a team.
• Good command of English.
• German and/or Chinese language skills are an added advantage.
