Operations Manager – FinTech Startup

Role Overview

We are looking for a proactive General Manager to spearhead the company's next growth phase. This position demands a hands-on leadership style to shape business strategy, build and lead teams, secure funding, forge strategic alliances, and manage day-to-day company operations. The candidate will relocate to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and work directly with the founders and board members to scale operations regionally.

Key Responsibilities

• Formulate and implement the company’s vision, strategy, and growth trajectory.
• Own full P&L accountability.
• Oversee all departments including operations, technology, finance, marketing, product development, compliance, and customer success.
• Foster a culture of high performance emphasizing accountability and innovation.
• Scout for new revenue streams and devise market expansion tactics.
• Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with banks, payment processors, tech collaborators, and enterprise clients.
• Lead company representation in commercial negotiations and strategic meetings.
• Expand market presence across Southeast Asia and internationally.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to shape product roadmaps.
• Ensure operational efficiency with strong processes and KPIs.
• Drive customer acquisition and ensure product-market fit.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning to optimize cash flow.
• Monitor KPIs and financial reports to maintain sustainable growth and profitability.
• Lead fundraising rounds and maintain strong investor relations.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop senior leadership and foster a culture of execution excellence.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and maintain robust governance and risk management frameworks.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• At least 3 years of leadership experience in fintech, financial services, payments, banking, SaaS, or tech firms.
• Demonstrated track record scaling startups or high-growth tech companies.
• Strong commercial insight with proven success in revenue growth.
• Experience managing cross-functional teams spanning product, technology, marketing, operations, finance, and compliance.
• Deep understanding of fintech ecosystems including digital payments, embedded finance, or digital assets.
• Fundraising and investor relationship management expertise is highly preferred.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and decision-making capabilities.
• Thrives in fast-paced startup environments requiring adaptability and execution focus.
• Willingness to relocate to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Additional Information

Salary Range: SGD 8,000 to 10,000
