Role overview
ALO is looking for an Operations Lead for its Domkloster store in Cologne. This role sits on the store leadership team and is focused on improving store profitability, operational efficiency, and overall execution. You will work closely with the Operations & Visual Manager to coordinate tasks, delegate work, and give ongoing feedback so the store runs smoothly end to end.
The brand emphasizes mindful movement, community, and translating studio values into everyday life. The position supports that mission by keeping store operations disciplined, efficient, and aligned with company standards.
Key responsibilities
- Run inventory processes with a strong focus on accuracy and reducing shrinkage.
- Look into inventory discrepancies, identify the underlying causes, and partner with the General Manager to surface process or system issues.
- Oversee core operational activities such as shipments, receiving and processing, reverse transfers, sales floor recovery, replenishment during the day, floor set updates, and supply handling.
- Maintain high visual presentation standards across the sales floor.
- Help ensure a safe and efficient backroom environment through strong stockroom standards and routines.
- Work with the Operations & Visual Manager on reporting, budgets, expenses, inventory control, supplies, vendor relationships, technology, and facilities.
- Use business metrics to support decisions and drive performance-oriented actions.
- Stay active on the retail floor to evaluate business, team, and guest needs in real time.
- Lead by example in daily operations and guest experience.
- Directly supervise Operations Associates and take ownership of hiring and talent development.
- Use company performance tools to review Operations Associates, give continuous feedback, and support individual growth together with the Store Leader.
- Partner with the Visual Lead to support cross-functional training and with the Sales & Service Lead to ensure strong business execution.
- Carry out company operational initiatives, projects, and directives with the management team to meet goals and KPIs.
- Open and close the store according to back-of-house standards.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a customer-focused, sales-driven environment.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and sound decision-making.
- Comfort with feedback, willingness to receive it, and readiness to give it constructively.
- Self-driven mindset with a strong desire to achieve results individually and as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Ability to identify with and represent ALO’s guiding principles.
- Capability to lift, push, carry, or move up to 50 pounds (22.7 kg).
- Ability to bend, kneel, climb, crawl, twist, and safely go up and down a ladder.
- Ability to stand and stay mobile throughout the full shift.
- Valid residence and work permit.
Schedule and working conditions
Full-time employees are expected to be available for opening, closing, and weekend shifts. These shifts may change depending on business needs. All employees must also be available from the week of Black Friday through the end of the holiday season, including the first week of January.
