Job description

About Gridware

Gridware develops technology designed to help utility companies spot and react to disturbances on the power grid before they grow into large outages, wildfires, or safety incidents. Using advanced sensing and live monitoring, the company enables operators to detect problems sooner and strengthen the reliability and safety of essential infrastructure.

Role Overview

Gridware is looking for multiple Operations Analysts to support the supervision of its expanding network of grid-monitoring devices. In this position, you will be part of a 24/7 operations function, examining device-generated alerts, spotting possible issues, and escalating events that could affect the power grid.

This opportunity is well suited to people who are attentive to detail, comfortable with analysis, and able to perform effectively in fast-moving environments where the work has a direct impact in the real world. The issues you review and the escalations you raise can help avoid outages, lower wildfire risk, and support public safety.

The team is hiring for several shift patterns to maintain round-the-clock coverage, with a strong preference for applicants available between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM PST.

Compensation

The pay is an hourly USD rate of $5 to $6.

Responsibilities

  • Watch live data coming in from field sensors and act on incoming alerts.
  • Apply standard operating procedures carefully to investigate and pinpoint real-time faults while keeping mistakes to a minimum.
  • Work promptly with supervisors on one-off data requests and continue following up throughout active investigations.

Requirements

  • A STEM background in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
  • Strong English communication skills so event details can be shared clearly and efficiently.
  • Foundational knowledge of data analysis and anomaly detection.
  • Comfort with a high-energy, fast-paced working environment.
  • Self-driven, proactive, and able to complete work independently without close supervision.
  • Availability to work night shifts and weekends.
  • Capacity to commit to 30 hours per week.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic Python programming ability.
  • Prior research exposure, preferably in a STEM setting.
  • Experience handling metadata or data annotation tasks.
  • Background in real-time work or preparing reports.

Additional Information

This is a contractor-style remote role supporting operations across multiple shifts. The posting emphasizes continuous monitoring, rapid escalation, and work that contributes to protecting critical power infrastructure.
