Role Overview

Join His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service as an Operational Support Grade (OSG) at HMP Grendon and Springhill, where you will contribute crucially to the smooth day-to-day operations of a busy correctional facility. This role interweaves desk responsibilities with physically engaging tasks such as lifting, carrying, and escorting vehicles throughout the prison grounds.

Key Responsibilities

As part of a dedicated support team, you will be involved in a variety of duties including managing security checkpoints and searches, overseeing deliveries, supervising visitors, and monitoring phone communications and CCTV systems. Working shifts that include nights and weekends, you will help maintain safety and order within the prison environment.

Candidate Profile

No formal qualifications are required; however, we seek individuals with strong communication skills who remain composed under pressure. Good judgment, practical sense, and teamwork are essential attributes for success in this demanding yet rewarding role. A full, valid UK driving license is mandatory due to driving responsibilities inherent in the position.
