Role Overview

The Operation & Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing both routine and unplanned maintenance tasks to ensure optimal functioning of the Baggage Handling System (BHS) at Singapore Changi Airport. This role demands adherence to safety standards, timely task execution, and excellent housekeeping practices to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the Baggage Handling System at Singapore Changi Airport.
• Comply strictly with safety policies and procedures during all tasks.
• Deliver maintenance work promptly and with high quality.
• Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance activities within designated areas.
• Respond swiftly to BHS system faults and disruptions.
• Observe all applicable customer site regulations.
• Transport materials requiring repair to designated sites and return surplus materials to the main office or delivery zones.
• Document completion of work orders accurately and promptly.
• Support equipment modification and replacement initiatives.
• Assist with the installation of new equipment assets.
• Contribute to maintaining overall site cleanliness and orderliness.
• Participate in planning maintenance work and breakdown recovery efforts.
• Maintain and update maintenance and pre-emptive maintenance checklists.
• Replace equipment as requested.

Qualifications and Requirements

Electrical Technician:

• NTC, Nitec, Diploma in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or equivalent technical qualification from a recognized institute.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and circuit diagrams.
• Relevant practical experience.
• Familiarity with PLCs and frequency inverters is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Willingness to work in rotating shifts.

Mechanical Technician:

• NTC, Nitec, Diploma in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering, or equivalent technical certification from a reputable institute.
• Relevant work experience.
• Hands-on expertise with conveyor systems is beneficial.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
• Capability to work shifts on a rotating schedule.

Additional Details

• Work location is within Changi Airport.
• Access is to a secure restricted area necessitating clearance by the Airport Police Division.
• Shift schedule includes a cycle of 2 morning shifts, 2 afternoon shifts, 2 night shifts followed by 2 days off.
• Morning shift hours: 7:30 am to 3:30 pm.
• Afternoon shift hours: 3:00 pm to 10:30 pm.
• Night shift hours: 10:00 pm to 8:00 am.
