Role Overview and Responsibilities

This position involves planning, leading, supervising, and overseeing all business, technical, financial, and administrative aspects of assigned projects or sub-tasks. The manager acts as the representative with customers and key suppliers, negotiating scope changes and supporting business development in understanding client needs to secure work. Responsibilities include defining program requirements, supervising project execution plans, and leveraging team strengths.

  • Oversee performance reviews and growth plans for team members while championing technical excellence and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate project teams by aligning company resources across departments and subsidiaries.
  • Collaborate with lead engineers to develop budgets, schedules, and execution plans ensuring targets are met or exceeded.
  • Monitor project milestones and progress, address potential cost or schedule deviations, and communicate changes to stakeholders.
  • Manage critical planning documents such as Work Plans, Health and Safety Plans, and Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plans, including hazardous waste-related procedures.
  • Engage with regulatory bodies and public forums to support client interests when applicable.

Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Commitments

  • Collaborate with teams to actively support and comply with the company's One-Way safety program ensuring all participants adhere to HSE requirements.

Customer and Commercial Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships throughout the project lifecycle and after completion.
  • Capture and communicate customer requirements clearly and manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
  • Manage contracts to deliver assigned budgets and gross margins successfully.

Scope, Time, Cost, and Quality Management

  • Ensure smooth handover from Business Development and maintain clear scope definitions with contract compliance.
  • Implement robust change control processes and regularly monitor project performance to address issues proactively.
  • Plan all project elements, including resource allocation and financial requirements, and supervise design, procurement, and construction phases to meet schedules.
  • Produce accurate estimates and cost reports, control expenditures, identify trends, and apply corrective measures to avoid overruns.
  • Define and enforce project quality standards and comply with company policies and procedures, incorporating lessons learned programs.

Team and Communication Leadership

  • Clarify roles and responsibilities to inspire project success and set strategic direction.
  • Maintain effective communication within the project team and with customers, documenting requirements and providing timely progress reports.
  • Monitor communication channels continuously and implement improvements as needed.

Risk and Design Management

  • Identify, evaluate, and track risks and opportunities throughout the project, ensuring timely closure.
  • Set clear objectives and oversee the design team to comply with client specifications, applicable regulations, and codes, ensuring smooth inter-disciplinary coordination.

Procurement and Construction Oversight

  • Direct procurement and subcontract teams to meet specifications, timelines, and budgets.
  • Supervise construction management to guarantee safe and timely project delivery within financial constraints.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university is mandatory.
  • Accreditation from the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) is required; candidates must obtain this during probation if not already held.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or progress towards it is advantageous.
  • Proven extensive project management experience with technical expertise, especially in onshore Brownfield projects.
  • Mandatory experience covering Pre-FEED and FEED project phases.
