Job description
Position Overview
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract role serving as parental leave cover, based in Eagle Farm, Queensland, Australia. The working arrangement includes being onsite four days a week with the option to work from home on Fridays. You will be a key contributor to Lorna Jane's Enterprise Systems team, supporting the technology facilitating the integrated store, ecommerce website, and mobile customer experience.
Role Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operational health of Shopify storefront, point-of-sale (POS), order management systems, product information management (PIM), search, merchandising, and other related customer interface platforms.
- Investigate and troubleshoot challenges related to Shopify's Liquid themes, connected applications, platform configurations, and integrations.
- Identify and resolve issues involving product data, attribute mapping, channel synchronization between PIM, Shopify, and downstream platforms.
- Tackle search and merchandising problems concerning product feeds, search algorithms, ranking, redirects, personalization, and platform settings.
- Utilize logs, error outputs, API and webhook responses, and sync data to pinpoint and analyze system issues.
- Resolve configuration and platform problems within your scope, adhering to testing, security, and change management protocols.
- Collaborate with integration specialists, developers, and external vendors when code modifications or in-depth technical support is necessary.
- Manage vendor support tickets and platform change requests from investigation to implementation and closure.
- Translate cross-functional business requirements from Retail, eCommerce, Marketing, and Customer Care into actionable system specifications.
- Coordinate platform updates and releases, including testing processes, stakeholder communications, user training, and documentation.
- Support mobile app and omnichannel initiatives through requirements gathering, configuration, testing, launch preparations, and ensuring business readiness.
- Identify patterns in recurring issues and support continuous improvement efforts to enhance platform stability, process efficiency, and the overall customer experience.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Hands-on experience with Shopify in operational, support, or eCommerce system roles.
- Familiarity with Shopify Liquid templating, capable of diagnosing and resolving typical theme issues and making simple edits where appropriate.
- Experience managing PIM systems, including product attributes, data mappings, channel information, and eCommerce synchronization.
- Competence with search and merchandising platforms covering product feed management, search logic, ranking, redirects, and merchandising setup.
- Solid understanding of omnichannel retail systems integrating eCommerce, POS, and order management functionalities.
- Comfortable utilizing technical concepts like APIs, webhooks, integrations, and interpreting logs and errors for problem investigation.
- Strong communication skills for effective stakeholder and vendor collaboration across technical and business teams.
- Experience working within structured frameworks for testing, incident handling, release management, and change control.
Preferred Additional Skills
- Experience implementing, enhancing, or releasing mobile applications.
- Familiarity with NewStore or similar POS and order management platforms.
- Knowledge of Omnni, Comestri, or comparable PIM systems.
- Exposure to Nosto or similar search, merchandising, and personalization tools.
- Experience with Klaviyo or equivalent customer communication platforms.
- Working knowledge of Google Analytics 4 (GA4) or Google Tag Manager.
- Background in retail or ecommerce technology environments.
Additional Information
This is not a full developer role but requires comfort in working with Shopify Liquid and coordinating with developers for deeper technical issues. The position involves supporting and improving systems that underwrite stores, ecommerce, orders, mobile apps, and customer communications. Daily interaction with various internal teams and external partners is expected. Employee benefits include product discounts and onsite parking.
Work schedule allows four days onsite with Fridays remote, and occasional after-hours meetings for vendor coordination or critical incident escalation, with overall platform responsibility remaining with the Enterprise Systems Manager.
