Job Overview
The Offshore Commissioning Mechanical Lead will manage and coordinate Mechanical commissioning efforts on a significant offshore wellhead platform project. This role ensures Mechanical pre-commissioning and commissioning activities are completed safely, punctually, and in compliance with project and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Mechanical commissioning work during offshore execution phases.
- Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and project teams to guarantee timely and safe completion of all Mechanical pre-commissioning and commissioning tasks.
- Supervise installation, testing, preservation, commissioning, and handover of Mechanical equipment and systems.
- Ensure adherence to project procedures, OPERCOM methodology, ICAPS requirements, HSE policies, and industry codes.
- Review commissioning documentation including procedures, test packages, RFC dossiers, punch lists, and handover records.
- Assist in resolving technical challenges and removing commissioning blockages.
- Provide expert guidance and monitor Mechanical commissioning teams’ progress against milestones.
- Coordinate with other disciplines and stakeholders to manage interfaces and avoid delays.
- Support vendor commissioning activities, ensuring testing, documentation, and punch list closure are properly handled.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- At least 10 years’ experience in offshore oil & gas, including a minimum of 5 years in a Mechanical Commissioning Lead or supervisory position.
- Demonstrated expertise in offshore wellhead platform commissioning or similar EPCIC offshore projects.
- Strong background in Mechanical equipment installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and handover operations.
- Familiarity with offshore Mechanical systems, equipment packages, and industry standards such as API, ISO, ASTM, NACE, and SSPC.
- Preference for experience with OPERCOM methodology and ICAPS commissioning systems.
- Effective leadership, communication, and coordination skills in multicultural team environments.
- Thorough understanding of offshore HSE standards and safety protocols.
- Proficiency in English and computer skills.
- Valid offshore safety certifications including H2S OPITO and T-BOSIET.
