About the Project and Role
The Future Generation Joint Venture combines the expertise of WeBuild, Clough, and Lane to design and construct Snowy 2.0, one of the world’s largest pumped hydro schemes located in the Snowy Mountains, NSW. This landmark renewable energy initiative in Australia aims to offer on-demand energy and extensive storage solutions for many future generations, solidifying its place in the country’s history.
Role Purpose
This position involves delivering comprehensive payroll services, offering advice, handling queries, and supporting payroll functions for the project.
Qualifications
- Relevant education in payroll systems.
- Diploma in Payroll Services or similar tertiary qualifications is preferred.
- Possession of a valid White Card.
Experience
- At least 2 years of payroll experience, ideally within the construction sector.
- Familiarity with multiple platforms such as Roster Space, Microsoft Office Suite, Preceda, SAP, and E7 is advantageous.
Key Competencies
- Ability to interpret Common Law Contracts, Awards, and Enterprise Agreements, specifically the SC Hydro Pty Ltd AWU Tunnel and Associated Works Greenfield Agreement 2021–2025 and the SC Hydro Pty Ltd AWU and CFMMEU Surface Works Greenfield Agreement 2021–2025.
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll accounting systems, with proficiency in managing multiple payroll runs including both blue-collar and white-collar employees.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Capacity to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Skill in managing deadlines and prioritizing workload under pressure.
- Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail.

Primary Responsibilities
- Manage payroll processing for both blue-collar and white-collar workers efficiently.
- Prepare and maintain payroll records ensuring all transactions are handled accurately.
- Collect, calculate, and enter payroll-related data to keep records current.
- Compile earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and non-taxable wage summaries and reports.
- Address and resolve any payroll discrepancies.
- Maintain payroll operations by adhering to established policies and procedures.
- Create ad hoc financial and operational reports as required.
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries and monitor the payroll communications inbox.
- Coordinate interfaces with Finance and Cost Control departments.
- Provide advice and assistance to line managers to ensure payroll process compliance.
