Nutrition Program Lead

Overview

The Idaho Foodbank is seeking a dedicated Nutrition Program Lead to act as the statewide expert on nutrition education, standards, and related services. Reporting to the Director of Health and Nutrition and based in Meridian, ID, this full-time, hourly, non-exempt role involves developing and managing nutrition curricula, educational materials, and standard operating procedures to ensure consistent, high-quality nutrition programming across all organizational regions.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the chief internal resource and authoritative figure on nutrition education and standards.
• Create, update, and maintain nutrition curricula, recipes, newsletters, toolkits, and other resources that facilitate standardized state-wide program implementation.
• Provide instructional coaching, technical assistance, and training for Community Health & Nutrition Coordinators, volunteers, and community partners to enhance program delivery and participant involvement.
• Advance continuous improvement initiatives and ensure nutrition programs are culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and accessible to diverse populations with adjustments for language, literacy, and cultural food traditions.
• Engage volunteers and community collaborations by equipping them with nutrition training and resources.
• Advocate for consistent use of nutrition tools such as Nutrition Toolkit, pantry assessment instruments, outreach materials, and educational curricula.
• Maintain and uphold The Idaho Foodbank's nutrition framework, including food product categorization standards aligned with organizational nutrition objectives.
• Collaborate with sourcing, inventory, operations, and program teams to ensure nutrition standards guide food acquisition and distribution practices.
• Lead menu planning, recipe evaluation, and nutritional analysis for targeted nutrition programs like the School Backpack initiative.
• Stay current with evolving nutrition science, food assistance trends, and best practices, recommending timely updates to resources and standards.
• Develop and sustain standard operating procedures, documentation, and training materials to support uniform program delivery statewide.
• Track program engagement, outcome metrics, and reporting compliance to facilitate program evaluation and ongoing refinement.
• Manage program records, databases, and necessary documentation related to nutrition initiatives.
• Support the collection and administration of participant surveys, waivers, and data aligned with organizational and funding requirements.
• Identify areas for program enhancement based on data analysis, participant feedback, and best practices, contributing to quality assurance and consistency across regions.
