About the Role

The City of Farmington Hills is seeking a dedicated Nutrition Coordinator to manage the Senior Adult Congregate and Home Delivered Meals Program. This role involves significant responsibility in program funding, administration, and operations, ensuring the well-being of senior participants.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Senior Adult Congregate and Home Delivered Meals Program.
  • Develop and write grant proposals to secure funding for nutrition initiatives.
  • Administer the program budget, meticulously track expenses, and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Prepare comprehensive grant reports to demonstrate program impact and accountability.
  • Plan and coordinate diverse menus that meet nutritional standards for seniors.
  • Train, schedule, and supervise both staff and volunteers involved in the program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support program success.

Requirements

  • A minimum of two years of experience working with or providing services to the senior adult population.
  • Demonstrated experience in grant writing and management is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to maintain detailed records and manage administrative tasks.
  • Experience in supervising staff and volunteers is preferred.
  • Excellent telephone and customer service abilities are essential.
  • Must possess strong multitasking capabilities, attention to detail, and robust organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively independently, with older adults and their caregivers, and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly spreadsheet software.
  • Physical ability to lift more than 30 lbs.

Education

A Bachelor of Science degree in Gerontology, Recreation, Social Work, or a closely related field is required.

This is a full-time, onsite position with a structured work schedule.

Additional Information

The anticipated start date for this position is June 2026. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, with occasional requirements for evening and weekend work.
