Job description

Role Overview

This position is for a psychiatric nurse responsible for delivering individualized nursing care aligned with patient treatment plans. The role centers on medication administration, patient monitoring for treatment effects, screening, observations, and accurate documentation of patient responses and therapeutic interventions. The nurse works closely with a multidisciplinary clinical team to provide evidence-based primary nursing care while upholding the quality and professional standards of Naufar Nursing Services.

Important note: Only candidates with experience in addiction will be considered.

Key Accountabilities

  • Deliver nursing care based on shift instructions from the nurse in charge and support the ongoing treatment plan to meet each patient’s needs.
  • Prepare rooms for incoming patients so admissions are handled smoothly and professionally.
  • Clean and ready medical equipment and treatment areas in line with clinical standards.
  • Welcome newly admitted patients and escort them to their rooms with a high standard of hospitality.
  • Document the care provided and patient responses, then share observations with the nursing supervisor to support service improvement decisions.
  • Treat every patient with fairness and respect to promote satisfaction with the care experience.
  • Maintain patient privacy during care by knocking before entering rooms and respecting comfort.
  • Protect the confidentiality of all patient care information.
  • Offer emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and their families in a compassionate setting.
  • Inform patients in advance if their room or roommate needs to be changed, where applicable.
  • Keep work areas clean, safe, and sanitary to support quality and hospitality standards.
  • Pass on information from the clinical team to patients and families, and respond to their questions and concerns.
  • Help maintain a safe, therapeutic environment by observing, reporting, and supporting a positive clinical milieu.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science in Nursing.
  • At least 3 years of nursing experience, including 1 year in mental health or addiction care.
  • Valid primary nursing license from the country of origin.
  • Must be eligible for licensure from the appropriate authority in the State of Qatar to practice healthcare.
  • Strong English and Arabic language skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
