Job description
Position Overview
We are looking for a caring and committed NICU Nurse to support newborns who need intensive medical attention. In this role, you will be part of a hospital-based neonatal care team in Dubai and will help deliver safe, specialized care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Track each newborn’s condition and respond to changes in their health.
- Provide hands-on nursing support tailored to the needs of individual infants.
- Give medicines and carry out treatments as prescribed by the medical team.
- Observe and record vital signs, blood sugar, and oxygen saturation closely.
- Work with doctors, nurses, and other specialists to plan and deliver coordinated care.
- Guide and reassure families, including explaining newborn care and procedures.
- Keep detailed and accurate clinical notes for assessments, interventions, and progress updates.
- Follow infection prevention measures and patient safety standards at all times.
- Stay current through ongoing learning, training, and professional development in NICU practice.
Requirements
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- At least 2 to 3 years of experience in NICU nursing.
- Practical knowledge of newborn health, growth, and developmental care.
- Good command of NICU processes, treatment methods, and care standards.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and sound judgment in urgent situations.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills for working with families and clinical teams.
- Comfort working in a busy, high-pressure environment.
- Strong attention to detail and well-developed organizational habits.
- BLS certification is required.
- PALS certification is an added advantage.
