About the Role

Chandigarh University is seeking a polished and self-assured News Anchor to become part of its Media & Communications team. The role calls for a strong on-camera personality, excellent presentation ability, and a solid grasp of current affairs. The selected professional will present news and related content across digital, social, and institutional channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Anchor news bulletins, special coverage pieces, interviews, and university-focused programming.
  • Gather information, draft scripts, and refine news copy in coordination with the content and production teams.
  • Interview academicians, industry professionals, students, and other notable guests.
  • Deliver live and recorded segments with confidence, clarity, and a professional style.
  • Keep up with current events, developments in education, and updates related to the institution.
  • Work closely with videographers, editors, and content creators to ensure smooth production workflows.
  • Take part in voiceovers, promotional videos, podcasts, and other special media initiatives.
  • Maintain factual accuracy, impartiality, and credibility in all news and media output.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A bachelor’s degree is required.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in news anchoring, presenting, reporting, or broadcast media.
  • Strong spoken communication and presentation skills in both English and Hindi.
  • Comfortable and confident in front of the camera, including live reporting situations.
  • Ability to manage interviews, panel-style conversations, and event-based coverage.
  • Working knowledge of digital media platforms and content trends.
  • Scriptwriting and storytelling capabilities will be considered an added advantage.
