Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day network-related tickets covering switching, routing, and application firewall controls.
• Operate within secure government environments, strictly following access controls, compliance standards, and change management protocols.
• Manage BGP routing configurations and troubleshoot peering problems to maintain network stability and optimal routing paths.
• Oversee IPsec tunnels to ensure secure site-to-site connections, addressing encryption, authentication, and tunnel integrity issues.
• Respond expediently to incidents escalated from the service desk, performing in-depth analysis and restoring services promptly to minimise disruption.
• Plan and implement network modifications and upgrades such as firewall policy adjustments, routing enhancements, wireless access point deployments, and infrastructure improvements.
• Continuously monitor network performance using appropriate tools, identifying opportunities for patching, capacity expansion, or other enhancements.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation including network diagrams, configuration standards, and operational procedures on a regular basis.
• Ensure wireless networks meet coverage, performance, and security requirements, addressing interference and roaming challenges.
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams and government clients to deliver secure, scalable solutions aligned with business and regulatory needs.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven experience as a Network Engineer.
• Expertise with Cisco routers, Aruba switches, Fortinet, Juniper, and Palo Alto firewalls.
• Deep understanding of enterprise switching protocols such as VLANs, Spanning Tree, HSRP/VRRP, and Link Aggregation (LAG).
• Experience configuring firewalls, wireless controllers, and access points.
• Familiarity with voice and SIP call flow troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Teams and Session Border Controllers (SBCs); Audiocodes expertise is advantageous.
• Strong grasp of routing protocols and practical experience.
• Competence in configuring and troubleshooting IPsec site-to-site VPNs is essential.
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities and strong troubleshooting skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and take responsibility for assigned tasks.
