About the Role

Adaptive HVM is seeking a skilled Network Engineer for a 12-month contract position based in Dublin, with potential for extension or transition to permanent employment. The selected candidate will play a key role in designing, building, and deploying our global Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement global DWDM networks to support customer demand.
  • Create scalable network architectures and drive operational processes to build and manage our optical networks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional networking teams to support network deployment and maintenance.
  • Assess new network products and lead the commercial tendering process.
  • Ensure strict adherence of the optical network to defined standards.
  • Review and roll out changes to optical systems efficiently.
  • Lead projects focused on improving DWDM network reliability and quality through operational excellence.
  • Analyze and resolve complex network issues by devising innovative solutions day-to-day.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of industry experience in network engineering.
  • Proven expertise in planning, modeling, and deployment of large-scale DWDM networks.
  • Strong foundation in IP networking concepts and protocols.
  • Hands-on experience with major DWDM platforms including Ciena, Infinera, and Cisco.
  • In-depth knowledge of Cisco and Juniper router platforms, including supervisory and line cards.
  • Extensive understanding of IP routing protocols, particularly BGP and OSPF.
  • Advanced network analysis capabilities and solid troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with a wide range of network protocols and technologies such as DWDM, T1/DS1, DS3, SONET (OC3, OC48), IEEE 802.2/3, 802.1d VLANs/STP, IPv4 & IPv6, TCP internals and flow control, BGP, OSPF, HSRP/GLBP, PIMv2, IGMP, LDP, TACACS, IPSEC & VPNs, netflow, DNS, and HTTP.

Additional Information

Salary offered is 83000 EUR per annum. Candidates must have full-time work authorization in Ireland without requiring sponsorship.
