Job description

Role overview

Etqan Global Academy (EGA) in Doha, Qatar, is a newly opened IB World School delivering the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP). The school is looking for an enthusiastic and capable MYP Mathematics Teacher who can help students build strong mathematical understanding, connect learning to real-life situations, and develop a lasting interest in the subject within an IB learning environment.

What the role involves

  • Preparing and teaching engaging Mathematics lessons that follow the IB MYP framework, with an emphasis on concepts and global contexts.
  • Creating inquiry-led and adapted learning activities that support, stretch, and motivate learners of different abilities.
  • Evaluating student work against MYP Mathematics standards and offering clear, helpful feedback.
  • Building units that link Mathematics to practical situations and to other subject areas.
  • Strengthening ATL skill development and encouraging interdisciplinary learning across the curriculum.
  • Preparing students for MYP eAssessment and using assessment data to monitor progress and guide targeted support.
  • Taking on Form Tutor duties and supporting the wider pastoral programme of the school.
  • Contributing actively to the Mathematics department and the broader school community at EGA.

Candidate profile

The school is seeking a teacher with a recognised qualification such as PGCE, QTS, B.Ed, or an equivalent route, along with a degree in Mathematics or a closely related discipline. Prior experience teaching Mathematics in an IB MYP setting is required, together with a solid understanding of the MYP Mathematics curriculum, assessment standards, and eAssessment structure. The ideal candidate should be able to deliver concept-based, inquiry-driven, and differentiated lessons, and should use data confidently to track performance and improve outcomes. Strong classroom management, excellent communication skills, and a genuine commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing are essential.

Additional desirable experience

Training in IB MYP Mathematics workshops would be an advantage. Experience in an international school environment is also preferred.
