Role Overview

Sezzle is looking for a skilled and driven Mobile Engineer with both high intellectual and emotional intelligence. The role revolves around tackling challenges in their most trafficked mobile applications and directly impacting user experience and product success.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain new cutting-edge features within the React Native TypeScript-based mobile app.
• Continuously expand knowledge of different product areas and collaborate with product owners to improve user experience and functionality.
• Participate actively in design and architecture discussions to contribute ideas for the next generation of platform features.
• Engage hands-on in the codebase and contribute in code review processes.
• Ensure code quality through writing clean, scalable, robust, and testable code.
• Assist in project planning, estimating, and execution alongside team stakeholders.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience contributing to solving technical problems in a team-oriented environment.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent related practical experience.
• Proven ability to work with Claude or similar large language model AI tools to boost productivity, research, and communication.
• Strong familiarity with modern frontend development, with expertise in JavaScript or TypeScript, preferably with React Native or React for the web.

Preferred Skills and Knowledge

• Experience publishing mobile applications to app stores such as Apple's App Store or Google Play Store.
• Understanding of automated testing including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
• Knowledge of React Native app architecture and RESTful API integration.
• Comfortable with software engineering tools, development methodologies, and release cycles.
