About the Role
Palacina is a boutique luxury hotel and residence in Nairobi, Kenya, recognized for its polished environment, attentive service, and high-quality food and beverage offerings. The team is looking for a lively and skilled Mixologist with barista capabilities to support the bar and lounge experience.
In this position, you will create well-crafted cocktails and coffee drinks while delivering friendly, attentive service that reflects a premium hospitality standard. The role calls for originality, product expertise, and a strong interest in guest experience.
What You’ll Do
- Mix, prepare, and serve cocktails, mocktails, and other specialty drinks to a high standard.
- Produce consistent premium coffee beverages and espresso-based drinks.
- Interact with guests in a confident, approachable, and knowledgeable manner.
- Keep the bar area tidy, organized, and fully supplied.
- Deliver service that supports strong guest satisfaction and overall experience.
- Use POS systems such as MICROS and Symphony for order handling and transactions.
What We’re Looking For
- Prior experience working as a mixologist or bartender, along with barista skills, in a quality hospitality setting.
- Good understanding of both classic and modern cocktail preparation.
- Strong barista knowledge, including specialty coffee preparation techniques.
- Hands-on experience with MICROS or Symphony POS systems.
- Clear communication and strong people skills.
- A professional, energetic, and guest-centered attitude.
- Comfort working efficiently in a busy, fast-moving environment.
