Role overview

This position is focused on supporting mill operations and coordinating shift-level execution for cold mill activities. The role centers on keeping key process parameters under control, guiding the shift team, and ensuring production, safety, and quality standards are maintained throughout operations.

Key responsibilities

• Track and regulate the two main mill parameters: TAT and speed.
• Direct shift activities for the cold mills and take the lead in making decisions during the shift.
• Ensure adequate manpower is available for the shift crew and organize deployment accordingly.
• Handle mill planning and scheduling work.
• Oversee sample inspection, record downtime in the machine log, check gauge trace details, and report findings to the immediate superior.
• Allocate manpower for breakdown situations, manage breakdown handling during the shift, and pass on the status to the next shift.
• Maintain discipline, enforce PPE compliance, and uphold 5S practices on the mill floor.
• Follow check sheets closely and respond to any abnormalities by coordinating with the LLF person.
• Prepare material issue slips in the system whenever material needs to be drawn from the engineering store.
• Stick to the daily mill plan and prioritize lots as per the plan.
• Address hot mill quality concerns, including monitoring and controlling coating on hot rolled coil.
• Check shift-wise operation of mill ancillary systems in the Hoffman filter area.
• Participate in daily POET meetings.
• Handle any other job-related responsibilities assigned from time to time.

Additional information

This is a full-time, onsite role based in Maharashtra, India. The job involves shift coordination, operational control, quality monitoring, safety adherence, and cross-functional coordination.
