About the Role

We are seeking a proactive Middleweight Designer to join our dynamic and expanding creative team at a busy design agency located in EC1, London. This role offers a salary range from £32,000 to £38,000, depending on experience.

Core Responsibilities

  • Interpret and understand project briefs to develop creative visual and conceptual solutions.
  • Generate initial design concepts in various styles and levels of complexity.
  • Clearly communicate your creative vision, self-assess your work, and respond constructively to creative guidance.
  • Incorporate feedback effectively to refine and finalize design projects.
  • Deliver polished final assets including logo files, print-ready artwork, and digital materials.
  • Present and pitch creative ideas internally and externally as needed.

Candidate Requirements

  • A strong, varied portfolio showcasing conceptual and commercial design expertise.
  • Approximately 3 to 4 years of experience in an agency or similar environment, although flexibility is offered.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite — specifically InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator — with additional familiarity in After Effects and Premiere Pro considered advantageous.
  • Experience with other creative software such as Figma or Blendr is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML5 is beneficial.
  • Comprehensive experience through all phases of the creative workflow from concept through to production, with eagerness to learn and adapt.
  • Deep understanding of foundational design principles including typography and layout.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and contribute productively within a close-knit creative team.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring error-free deliverables.
  • Natural creative talent with an enthusiasm for visual problem-solving.
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a design-related field is preferred but not mandatory.

About the Team and Culture

You will work within a small, friendly design department led by the Head of Design under the oversight of our Creative Director. The environment is open and collaborative, encouraging meaningful participation throughout all stages of the creative process. There are opportunities to engage with clients and contribute commercially as well as creatively. Constructive critique and continuous development are central to our culture.

Additional Benefits

  • Complimentary gym membership with unlimited access and exercise classes.
  • An extra day of annual leave granted on your birthday.
  • Hybrid working arrangement available (1-2 days per week) after successful probation completion.
  • Quarterly skills assessments accompanied by access to supplemental training courses.
