About the Role

A growing mid-sized advertising agency located just south of Boston, MA is looking to expand their creative team by bringing on a mid-level visual designer. This role acts as a critical liaison between local and national brands to ensure seamless execution and delivery of diverse creative projects, including digital design using Figma, traditional media, and animation components. The position follows a hybrid work model with three days on-site each week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support leadership in developing wayfinding, branding, and digital graphic design projects as well as storytelling content.
  • Create and contribute to the design and layout of all creative deliverables.
  • Help generate innovative ideas that align with client objectives.
  • Assist with website content setup and visual design implementation via content management systems.
  • Present creative concepts to clients and internal brand teams effectively.
  • Collaborate closely with creative leadership for constructive feedback and vetting of ideas.
  • Coordinate ongoing design projects efficiently alongside project managers.
  • Develop concepts that align closely with briefs, utilizing copy, sourced images, and initial sketches.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of two years of agency-based design experience.
  • A degree in Graphic Design or a related creative field.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating web, digital, print, typography, and branding expertise within comprehensive 360 campaigns.
  • Experience with storyboarding techniques.
  • Ability to maintain composure and focus under pressure situations.
  • Proficient in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite programs including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator; skills in After Effects are advantageous.
  • Excellent aesthetic judgment regarding design, layout, and typography complemented by conceptual creativity as evidenced in portfolio work.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills combined with effective communication, organization, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • A positive attitude with enthusiasm for creative work.
