Mid-Level Product Manager – Shopify Apps

Opportunity Overview

Role Summary

As a Mid-Level Product Manager focused on Shopify apps, you will take ownership of product features from the earliest discovery work through release and ongoing improvement. You’ll partner with engineering, design, customer success, and other teams to build solutions that address genuine customer pain points and contribute measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead products across their full lifecycle, from discovery and definition through launch and later refinement.
• Use both qualitative and quantitative research to uncover user needs, pain points, and growth opportunities.
• Convert research findings into precise requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Manage and rank the product backlog using customer impact, business value, and technical factors.
• Set product metrics, establish baseline performance, and evaluate how features perform after release.
• Work closely with engineering, UX, and customer-facing teams throughout development.
• Contribute to roadmap planning by shaping epics, prioritization logic, dependencies, and success measures.
• Review customer feedback, support cases, and market shifts to guide ongoing product improvements.

Required Qualifications

• Between 3 and 5 years of professional experience, with at least 2 years spent as a Product Manager or Product Owner.
• Demonstrated responsibility for digital product features from discovery all the way to launch and iteration.
• Practical exposure to analytics tools such as PostHog, Mixpanel, Tableau, or similar platforms.
• Experience using user research techniques such as interviews, behavioral observation, or customer journey mapping.
• Solid knowledge of agile software delivery practices.
• Comfort writing detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Experience using structured prioritization methods and making decisions based on data.
• Professional-level German and strong English communication skills.

Preferred Experience

It will be beneficial if you bring experience in one or more of the following areas: Shopify or Shopify app development, e-commerce or SaaS product management, or product marketing, go-to-market, and retention strategies.

Ideal Backgrounds

This role may be especially relevant if you have worked in Shopify agencies or app companies, e-commerce technology providers, SaaS businesses serving other companies, fintech or accounting software organizations, or commerce platforms, headless commerce, or PIM solutions.

Compensation and Contract

The base salary is €54,000 to €60,000 gross per year, and there is also a performance bonus of up to €7,000 gross annually. The position is a full-time permanent role with flexible, trust-based working hours. You will have 28 vacation days and a 6-month probation period.
