Job description
Role overview
PM Group is an international engineering, architecture, project and construction management organisation with offices across Europe, Asia and the US. Its multi-disciplinary workforce of more than 4,000 people supports complex capital programmes in life sciences, food and beverage, mission-critical and ICT, advanced manufacturing, energy, and environmental markets.
The company is looking for an accomplished Microsoft 365 specialist to oversee, improve, and protect its Microsoft 365 environment. The position focuses on enabling secure, effective collaboration across the business while getting the best value from cloud-based productivity tools. The successful candidate will combine hands-on technical capability with service leadership and will help shape both day-to-day operations and longer-term platform strategy.
Key responsibilities
You will manage Microsoft 365 services and act as a key technical point of contact for the platform. This includes administration of tenant services such as Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and related tools. You will also look after identity and access administration through Microsoft 365 Admin Center and Entra, including user, group, and licence management, while identifying opportunities to reduce cost through smarter licence usage.
The role also covers configuring and supporting Privileged Identity Management, single sign-on, and SAML-based authentication. In addition, you will create user guidance, deliver training to internal teams, and keep process documentation up to date. You will track Microsoft 365 roadmap changes, updates, and best practices, and you will plan and execute migrations, upgrades, and new feature rollouts in a controlled way. A further part of the role is to design solutions that support Microsoft 365 tenancy and Entra requirements.
Qualifications and experience
A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a closely related subject is preferred. Professional certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert, Microsoft Certified: Security Administrator Associate, or relevant Azure certifications are strongly valued.
The ideal applicant will bring at least 5 years of Microsoft 365 administration experience in a mid-to-large enterprise setting. Practical knowledge is expected across Microsoft 365 Admin Center, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive, along with experience in Azure Active Directory and related security controls. Strong PowerShell scripting ability is required for automation and bulk administration. Familiarity with Office 365 migration tooling and processes, compliance and retention controls, data governance, network fundamentals, cloud architecture, mobile device management, and endpoint protection is also important.
On the interpersonal side, the role calls for strong communication skills, sound problem-solving ability, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to organise multiple priorities. The successful candidate should be comfortable working independently and collaboratively, be willing to learn continuously, and show initiative in adopting new technologies.
Working style and environment
This position is based in Ireland and follows a hybrid pattern, with 2 to 3 days per week expected onsite. Some out-of-hours work, including evenings or weekends, may occasionally be needed for urgent updates or incident response. Participation in an on-call rota and disaster recovery activities may also be required.
What the company values
PM Group describes itself as an employee-owned business with an inclusive, committed, and driven culture. Corporate responsibility and sustainability are central to its 2025 strategy. The organisation places strong emphasis on inclusion, diversity, mutual respect, and belonging, and it supports a workplace where different experiences, skills, and ideas are valued.
Accessibility
The company aims to make its hiring process fair and accessible. Candidates with disabilities can request reasonable accommodations to help them take part in the recruitment process.
