Role overview
PM Group’s Outsourced Technical Services team is hiring an experienced Industrial Hygienist for a client location in Cork, County Cork, Ireland. The position focuses on identifying, assessing, and managing workplace health hazards so the site remains safe, compliant, and continually improving in industrial hygiene standards.
What you will do
- Assess exposure risks using both qualitative and quantitative methods for chemical, biological, and physical agents.
- Design and run industrial hygiene monitoring initiatives such as air monitoring, noise measurement, and ventilation checks.
- Look after industrial hygiene instruments, including calibration and upkeep, to support reliable data capture.
- Work with teams across functions to review new processes and equipment for possible health impacts.
- Investigate occupational health incidents and suggest corrective and preventive actions.
- Help create and deliver training on occupational health and hygiene topics.
- Ensure practices align with relevant local, national, and international occupational health rules and standards, including OSHA, EPA, and EU REACH.
- Prepare technical documentation and reports for internal reviews and external audits.
- Take part in risk assessments, including chemical hazard reviews and PPE selection.
- Keep up to date with new industrial hygiene methods, regulations, and best practices.
What we’re looking for
- A bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, or a closely related discipline; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Professional certification, or eligibility to obtain it, such as CIH, ROH, or an EHS-related credential.
- At least 3 years of industrial hygiene experience, ideally within pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing.
- Solid understanding of occupational health regulations and exposure assessment techniques.
- Hands-on familiarity with industrial hygiene monitoring equipment and data analysis tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving ability.
- Comfortable working both independently and with others in a fast-moving, highly regulated environment.
