About the Role
We seek a versatile individual combining creativity with analytical skills to spearhead our merchandise planning. This role involves more than product selection; you will design our collections by forecasting trends, identifying suitable manufacturers, and validating success through sales analytics.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop product strategies by analyzing market trends and customer preferences within Singapore and beyond, focusing on categories like apparel and consumer goods.
- Manage the entire sourcing process: select and evaluate manufacturers across the region, oversee technical specifications, sample production, and ensure quality control.
- Leverage weekly sales data and sell-through metrics to optimize stock levels, coordinate reorders, and enhance upcoming collections.
- Negotiate all-inclusive costs including production, logistics, and duties to maintain profitable margins without sacrificing product standards.
- Guarantee merchandise quality and brand consistency, acting as the final arbiter of design and quality standards.
Requirements
- Two to four years of experience in retail merchandising, product development, or related positions within a dynamic consumer brand environment.
- Strong aesthetic sensibility and keen awareness of contemporary lifestyle and streetwear trends.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel with expertise in pivot tables and VLOOKUP, comfortable handling numerical data and sales forecasting.
- Exceptional negotiation abilities; fluency in Mandarin or other regional languages is highly advantageous for factory communications.
- Technical familiarity with fabric characteristics such as GSM, printing methods, and production schedules.
Compensation and Benefits
Monthly salary ranges from SGD 3000 to SGD 4000.
