Role Overview

This position is for a dependable, energetic team member who enjoys active work in a busy store setting. The role supports the retail floor and back-of-house operations by keeping merchandise organized, processed, and ready for customers, while also contributing to a welcoming in-store experience.

Availability and Pay

This opportunity requires flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, closing shifts, days, and evenings. The pay rate is $17.60 per hour.

Key Duties

  • Review incoming merchandise by inspecting, sorting, tagging, grading, and pricing items according to company guidelines.
  • Hang and arrange products on rolling racks by category, size, and colour.
  • Help with donation handling, floor transitions, replenishing stock, and preparing for sale days.
  • Carry out daily sorting, tagging, and rack-organization tasks to keep merchandise moving efficiently.
  • Use accurate bin labels and follow colour-tag rotation practices to maintain fresh inventory flow.
  • Work at a steady pace while meeting quality expectations.
  • Keep the processing area tidy, orderly, and free of safety risks.
  • Follow personal protective equipment, lifting, and general safety procedures at all times.
  • Report hazards or incidents and help maintain safe access throughout work areas.
  • Take part in daily team huddles, communicate clearly with coworkers and leaders, and support shared goals.
  • Assist with housekeeping and help maintain a respectful, productive workplace.

What You Bring

You should be detail-oriented, comfortable in a hands-on and fast-paced setting, and able to work well with others. Strong communication, a positive attitude, and a willingness to step in where needed are important for success in this role.

Preferred Background

Helpful experience includes warehouse work, inventory handling, or back-of-house retail duties. Familiarity with thrift or second-hand merchandise, basic grading, PPE use, and routine health and safety practices is an advantage.

Work Conditions

The job involves frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, twisting, and moving throughout the shift. You must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and push or pull rolling containers weighing up to 500 lbs. The environment may include dust, dirt, insects, garbage, occasional rodents, noise, and changing temperatures. Regular interaction with customers and the public is part of the role.
