MEP Inspector

Job Purpose

This role focuses on inspecting and assuring the quality of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works across construction projects. The selected candidate will help confirm that MEP installations match approved designs, technical specifications, and applicable industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out on-site inspections for MEP works, covering HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical installations.
• Check that contractors are following approved drawings, technical requirements, and local regulations.
• Track construction progress and flag any deviations or quality issues.
• Work with contractors and project teams to close technical gaps and solve site issues.
• Examine MEP shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals.
• Prepare thorough daily inspection records and keep documentation accurate and up to date.
• Support testing, commissioning, and final handover activities for MEP systems.
• Make sure work is carried out safely and in line with environmental requirements.
• Assist project engineers with site-based technical checks and project documentation.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills

• A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering from a recognized university, along with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Alternatively, a diploma in a related engineering field from a recognized institution with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of MEP systems and construction methods.
• Knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as NFPA, IEC, and ASHRAE.
• Capability to interpret MEP drawings and technical documentation.
• High attention to detail and a practical approach to quality control.
• Clear communication and solid reporting abilities.
• Comfort with computers, especially MS Office; AutoCAD or comparable software is an advantage.
• Ability to collaborate effectively on site with multidisciplinary project teams.
