Position Summary
The Medical Representative will be responsible for business development and sales management of assigned pharmaceutical products within the private markets of Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. The main goal is to meet or surpass sales targets through effective client engagement and product promotion.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop strategic call plans targeting physicians and healthcare providers.
- Deliver accurate, approved information about products to physicians and customers.
- Conduct market research including physician focus groups and patient profiling with key accounts.
- Raise awareness of the company and its products by engaging thought leaders.
- Stay informed of competitive product offerings, sales techniques, and market activities.
- Maintain detailed records of client interactions, product usage, and necessary follow-ups.
- Implement marketing campaigns in line with principals' directives.
- Manage product availability and ordering per account requirements.
- Promote products by engaging doctors and hospitals to generate prescriptions and achieve sales targets.
- Mentor and support less experienced sales staff through knowledge sharing and training.
- Plan daily schedules to service existing accounts and seek new sales opportunities.
- Customize sales presentations to suit the specific outlet or client type.
- Analyze sales potential and adjust focus accordingly.
- Keep management updated with activity reports including calls, work plans, and territory analyses.
- Track competitor activities and market trends to provide feedback and recommendations.
- Resolve customer complaints by investigating issues and proposing solutions.
- Maintain professional expertise via workshops, publications, and networking.
- Document sales history and contribute to team goals.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Fluent English communication skills; Arabic is advantageous.
- Strong presentation, listening, and negotiation capabilities.
- In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical products offered by the company.
- Ability to handle complex technical information and present effectively to key opinion leaders.
- Established relationships with key opinion leaders and hospitals; experience in chronic medication detailing and key account management preferred.
- Experience in developing and delivering sales training sessions.
- Willingness to travel within UAE; possession of a valid UAE driver's license.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience and Education
Applicants should have 2 to 4 years of pharmaceutical industry experience focused on the Abu Dhabi and Al Ain private markets. A bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or a related scientific discipline is required.
