About the role
The Doctors Massey is seeking a friendly and dependable receptionist to be the welcoming front-of-house presence for its family medical practice. This is a permanent part-time opportunity based in Auckland, supporting a busy primary care environment with a strong focus on patient experience and community health.
The role is scheduled for 19 hours per week across two days, Thursday and Friday, from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. The start date is available immediately. The workplace offers free parking and is located near a local bus route.
What you will do
- Welcome patients, register arrivals, and support smooth check-in at reception.
- Handle incoming phone calls and respond to patient enquiries professionally.
- Arrange appointments both over the phone and in person.
- Prepare invoices, process payments, and collect patient fees.
- Carry out general administrative duties as required.
- Manage cash handling accurately and responsibly.
- Contribute to a fast-moving front desk environment and support the wider team.
What we are looking for
- Previous experience in administration and teamwork.
- Ideally, prior exposure to healthcare or a medical reception setting.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- A friendly, reliable, focused, and professional approach.
- Comfort working in a busy, diverse, and fast-paced setting.
- Good computer literacy and confidence with day-to-day systems.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.
- Experience with Medtech Evolution will be an advantage.
- A careful eye for detail, plus solid numerical and people skills.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
