Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician for our Waitematā Brewery in Ōtāhuhu, Auckland. This full-time position involves rotating shift work and focuses on maintaining brewing and utility equipment to ensure consistent, safe, and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform planned and preventive maintenance on brewing and utility machinery.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues to reduce downtime.
- Maintain and inspect utility assets across the site.
- Service hygienic process valves, actuators, seals, and associated brewery components.
- Collaborate with operators and maintenance teams to uphold plant reliability.
- Drive continuous improvement and adopt maintenance best practices.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety, quality, food safety, and environmental standards.
- Work rotating shifts including both morning and evening shifts.
- Participate in an on-call roster after full training and competency assessment.
- Support critical maintenance tasks and brewery shutdown operations.
Candidate Requirements
- Possess a Mechanical Trade Certificate or New Zealand Certificate in Engineering (Mechanical), with a preference for Fitter & Turner qualification.
- Have at least 5 years of maintenance experience within food, beverage, manufacturing, or FMCG sectors.
- Demonstrate strong skills in fault finding and problem solving.
- Adopt a proactive and safety-focused working attitude.
- Be a cooperative team player thriving in fast-paced environments.
- Available and flexible to work rotating shift patterns.
