Position Overview
Based in Feltham, London, this Mechanical Design Engineer role offers an excellent chance to enhance your career with an innovative engineering company. The successful candidate will contribute to the design and development of high-quality mechanical products from initial concept to manufacturing stages.
Key Responsibilities
- Create mechanical components and assembly designs through 3D CAD software.
- Prepare comprehensive engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and manufacturing documentation.
- Collaborate closely with production, quality assurance, and project teams to ensure the practicality and cost efficiency of designs.
- Support the product development cycle from concept through testing, validation, and production.
- Engage in design reviews and apply necessary design improvements.
- Communicate with suppliers and resolve technical queries during manufacturing processes.
- Ensure all designs meet relevant industry standards and customer requirements.
Candidate Profile
- Prior experience in mechanical design engineering or a comparable design role.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, or similar tools.
- Strong capability to interpret engineering drawings and understand manufacturing procedures.
- Possession of a degree, HNC/HND, or an equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work within multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in design for manufacture and assembly (DFM/DFA).
- Understanding of sheet metal, machined parts, or fabricated assemblies.
- Experience within manufacturing or engineering environments.
