Job description
Role Overview
The Materials Library Specialist will help run and maintain the Apparel Materials Library on a daily basis. This role focuses on receiving, arranging, recording, and displaying materials accurately so internal teams and visiting stakeholders can access a well-managed library.
Along with core library work, the position will also support selected team initiatives such as improving the material portfolio, platforming efforts, and readiness of data. It is a strong fit for someone who enjoys working with physical materials and wants exposure to broader materials strategy.
Materials Library Operations and Curation
- Accept incoming material submissions, unpack them, add labels, and arrange them according to library standards.
- Keep the physical library neat, up to date, and easy for users to browse.
- Work with the Materials Library team to build seasonal and theme-based material collections for internal review sessions and visits.
Inventory and Data Management
- Take responsibility for the accuracy of the physical inventory, including new additions, removals, and changes in material status.
- Help keep physical materials aligned with related digital records such as systems, trackers, or platforms.
- Make sure materials are stored, managed, and archived in the correct way.
Strategic Support and Continuous Improvement
- Assist with material consolidation and platforming work by preparing material sets for review and analysis.
- Support comparison, sorting, and organization tasks as needed.
- Contribute documentation, trackers, and summary materials for the team.
- Share practical ideas that strengthen library operations and support long-term materials strategy development.
Competencies and Experience
The role requires strong attention to detail, solid organizational ability, and comfort handling routine operational work alongside project-based tasks. A collaborative approach is important, as the position works with global and cross-functional teams in a changing environment.
Candidates should also be curious about materials strategy, consolidation, and platforming, and be willing to learn and grow through available development resources.
Relevant experience of 1 to 4 years in materials management, libraries, product support, or similar roles is preferred. Experience in apparel, footwear, textiles, or product development settings is an advantage. Practical exposure to inventory control and documentation is expected.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, is required, along with familiarity with Product Management Systems. Comfort working with data trackers and structured systems is important, and experience using AI tools is a plus.
Education
A bachelor’s degree is required. Suitable fields include Product Development, Supply Chain, Materials, or Textiles.
