Role overview
The Materials Co-ordinator will be responsible for supporting dry goods operations and ensuring that stock, administration, and service delivery are handled efficiently in line with business goals.
Key performance areas
- Deliver operational outcomes that support the company’s strategic objectives.
- Oversee stock control in a way that keeps materials accurate, available, and well managed.
- Reduce losses, breakages, and write-offs wherever possible.
- Provide reliable and efficient support to internal and external stakeholders.
- Cover stand-in duties when needed.
- Help maintain a skilled, motivated dry goods team.
- Take part in people management activities.
- Support stock counts whenever required.
- Keep administrative processes and housekeeping standards in good order.
- Follow company policies and procedures at all times.
- Manage the forklift fleet effectively.
- Develop and maintain productive working relationships with both internal teams and outside customers.
Experience and skills needed
- Grade 12 / Matric is required.
- A National Diploma or degree in Logistics or Warehousing is an advantage.
- At least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in a stores or inventory environment.
- Background in administration and production is beneficial.
- Ability to work independently, maintain accuracy, and stay effective under pressure.
- Comfortable working collaboratively as part of a team.
- Prepared to work on a rotating day and night shift pattern.
- Computer literacy, especially MS Word and Excel; SAP R/3 experience is an added advantage.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Self-driven, resourceful, and proactive with the ability to use initiative.
