Role overview
The Marketing Specialist will advise clients on marketing strategy and help shape plans alongside the Marketing Manager and/or Director. This role focuses on turning marketing strategy into action, tracking outcomes, and supporting initiatives that advance the client’s mission, strategic priorities, and business objectives.
Core responsibilities
- Provide marketing guidance and strategic consultation to a range of clients.
- Work with the Marketing Manager and/or Director to develop marketing plans.
- Plan, execute, monitor, and evaluate marketing efforts to support mission, strategy, and business goals.
- Support both strategic assessment and hands-on delivery of marketing work, including advertising, collateral, digital marketing, content development and review, and event or sponsorship activities.
- Conduct competitive landscape reviews and share recommendations when needed.
- Represent the client in both internal and external settings.
- Apply project management skills to guide initiatives through the full project lifecycle.
- Seek out ways to strengthen relationships with colleagues, leaders, and subject matter experts.
- Work independently to move functional strategies forward and support organizational goals.
- Build trust and credibility with peers and internal stakeholders.
- Identify improvement opportunities and adapt positively to change.
Additional experience and qualifications
- Well-rounded knowledge of marketing strategy is required.
- Strong capability in leadership, problem-solving, critical thinking, active listening, quantitative analysis, persuasive communication, presentations, project coordination, and interpersonal interaction.
- Proven ability to execute work effectively, with digital marketing experience preferred.
- Comfort working in a collaborative, consensus-driven environment with a strong emphasis on teamwork.
- Able to succeed in a fast-moving environment that changes frequently.
- Must be able to earn trust, operate professionally, and maintain confidentiality.
- Capable of prioritizing and advancing multiple projects independently and with others.
- High self-motivation, strong work ethic, adaptability, and creativity are essential.
- Experience with marketing automation, data interpretation, trend identification, and digital and advertising channels may be required.

- This position involves occasional travel and may require weekend and evening availability.
Education and experience
A bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as liberal arts, business, marketing, healthcare, or a similar area, along with 3 years of professional experience in a related field, is required. Strong academic performance is expected.
