Job description

About Ancient + Brave

Ancient + Brave is a female-founded, mission-focused wellness company offering an acclaimed selection of collagen, supplements, and functional blends. Combining ancient knowledge with scientific validation, the brand supports holistic health through simple, daily rituals. The company has been acknowledged as one of The Sunday Times' 100 fastest-growing private firms for three consecutive years, most recently ranking 7th, and was placed 4th in the Oresa Retail Growth Index in 2025. Social and environmental accountability are integral, as shown by their B Corp certification and commitments through the Made By Brave Foundation, which channels over 1% of revenue to societal and environmental initiatives.

This fixed-term, approximately six-month role is a remote position based in Germany and is designed to cover maternity leave while growing the German start-up market launched in 2025.

Role Summary

Reporting to the Head of EU Marketing, this role entails spearheading the execution of the marketing strategy for the German market. Responsibilities include managing the campaign timetable, tailoring brand and product narratives to suit German consumers, and collaborating closely with performance teams to optimize daily initiatives. The goal is to enhance and stabilize the existing strategy, not to reinvent it, ensuring the market is left in excellent condition post-tenure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead management and timely execution of German marketing campaigns, launches, and ongoing activities consistent with brand guidelines.
  • Convey brand and product messaging tailored specifically for German audiences, surpassing mere translation to ensure cultural resonance.
  • Serve as the resident authority on German consumer behavior and market dynamics, providing insights to the broader team.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of German marketing channels including CRM, organic social media, PR, events, podcasts, partnerships, and paid channels in collaboration with central and agency partners.
  • Coordinate with translators, freelancers, and local collaborators to produce quality, on-brand German-language content.
  • Support the ecommerce team in maintaining a commercially effective, well-merchandised German online storefront focused on conversion.
  • Monitor and report German market performance with transparency and responsiveness to analytics.
  • Work alongside nutrition experts to ensure all German marketing practices comply with local supplement and health claim regulations, safeguarding brand reputation.
  • Maintain strong communication with teams across the UK and international regions to flag challenges and keep all stakeholders well-informed.

Candidate Profile

  • Native or near-native proficiency in German and excellent command of English, with cultural understanding of both markets.
  • At least 5 years of experience in marketing management, ideally in direct-to-consumer or ecommerce sectors, preferably within wellness, beauty, food, or similar consumer categories.
  • Proven capability in planning and executing end-to-end marketing campaigns across multiple platforms.
  • Familiarity with the German market, its customers, and regulatory environment concerning supplements and health claims.
  • Ability to independently manage agencies and third-party vendors effectively.
  • Adept at quickly assuming an established role and operating autonomously in a dynamic setting.
  • Exhibits positivity, proactivity, reliability, and calmness under pressure with excellent organizational skills.
  • Self-driven with strong ownership, sound decision-making abilities, and readiness to seek guidance when necessary.
  • Brand-focused while commercial-minded, valuing both aesthetics and results.
  • Natural collaborator who can build trust rapidly across diverse teams and locations.
  • Comfortable with a fixed-term assignment and motivated to leave a positive legacy in the market and team.

Company Culture and Values

The company embodies values of bravery (courage, boldness, experimentation), integrity (honesty, accountability, ethics), connection (collaboration, inclusivity, openness), and intention (purposefulness, proactivity, focus).

Working Environment

The position is remote within Germany. The company values diversity and inclusion and is open to discussing flexible, part-time arrangements if appropriate. Reasonable accommodations for the application or interview process are welcomed.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Discretionary bonuses based on company and individual performance, with annual salary reviews.
  • Private Medical Insurance granting prompt, high-quality healthcare access.
  • Medicash plan comprising specialist consultations, 24/7 virtual GP, health screenings, dental, optical, and complementary therapies, plus confidential employee assistance program.
  • Annual leave of 25 days plus bank holidays, with an additional Wellbeing day.
  • Pension contributions invested in ESG-compliant funds avoiding ethically questionable sectors.
  • Access to Mintago platform for financial wellbeing advice, retail discounts, and salary sacrifice schemes for childcare, cycles, gym, groceries, electric vehicles, and technology purchases.
  • Opportunities for continuous training and professional development along with complimentary nutrition and meditation sessions.
  • Fully equipped kitchen stocked with products, and a 50% employee discount on all Ancient + Brave products.
  • Biannual social events to foster connection.
  • Provision of laptops, headphones, ergonomic office furniture, and office monitors for home setup.
