Role Overview
The North America Marketing Manager will spearhead initiatives designed to enhance brand awareness, foster market demand, and stimulate business growth for SGS's cosmetic testing, inspection, and certification services. This pivotal position supports both B2B clients, including major brands, manufacturers, retailers, and emerging indie brands, and B2C efforts aimed at recruiting and nurturing consumer panelists across three testing centers.
Responsibilities
- Conceptualize and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to elevate SGS's market presence and commercial success for its testing services.
- Develop segmented B2B campaign initiatives targeting major cosmetic industry stakeholders and indie companies alike.
- Lead consumer recruitment and engagement programs across North American testing locations, ensuring robust panelist participation.
- Collaborate with business leaders, laboratory teams, sales, and global marketing counterparts to maintain cohesive and timely marketing executions.
- Design integrated omnichannel marketing campaigns utilizing digital media, social platforms, events, emails, paid advertisements, and industry collaborations.
- Create impactful marketing assets including capability brochures, case studies, online content, social media posts, email sequences, recruitment ads, and promotional literature.
- Develop clear, compelling B2B narratives that translate technical testing capabilities into valuable propositions for product and brand teams.
- Produce consumer-facing content that effectively communicates the benefits, safety, and experience of participating in product testing.
- Manage and continuously improve digital platforms to maximize engagement and conversion rates.
- Maintain editorial calendars ensuring consistent marketing activities spanning all stakeholder groups.
- Drive lead generation and enhance brand image through integrated B2B campaigns aligned with commercial goals.
- Execute B2C recruitment campaigns utilizing paid social media, local outreach, community connections, and targeted online ads.
- Support product releases, claims testing promotions, seasonal marketing campaigns, and industry event participation.
- Partner with sales to develop sales enablement content tailored for beauty and personal care clients.
- Coordinate SGS’s presence at trade shows, conferences, and beauty sector events.
- Monitor and analyze campaign performance and recruitment metrics to refine strategies and promote ROI improvements.
- Optimize B2C recruitment funnel efficiency considering metrics such as reach, applications, attendance, and retention.
- Review and adjust B2B campaigns based on qualified lead generation and sales pipeline contributions.
- Enhance marketing processes, templates, workflows, and channel efficiency continuously.
- Act as a key strategic collaborator aligning marketing efforts with business, lab, and sales priorities.
- Partner with global marketing teams to conform with brand standards and participate in worldwide initiatives.
- Work closely with operations and panel management to ensure recruitment strategies match testing capacities.
- Coordinate with digital marketing, operations, and creative teams to ensure consistent campaign execution.
- Handle urgent marketing needs including rapid recruitment and high-priority client projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related discipline is mandatory.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in marketing or brand management within cosmetics, personal care, beauty, or consumer goods sectors.
- Proven success in formulating and deploying integrated marketing strategies that enhance commercial growth and customer acquisition.
- Strong expertise in producing multi-format marketing content such as product sheets, case studies, digital campaigns, social media, sales materials, trade show assets, and client presentations.
- Hands-on experience with digital marketing technologies including email automation, social media (paid/organic), SEO/SEM, landing pages, and CRM systems.
- Effective cross-functional collaboration with sales, operations, technical teams, regulatory, and global marketing to ensure messaging precision.
- Ability to translate complex scientific data into clear, audience-specific marketing communication.
- Understanding of claim substantiation, regulatory frameworks, and industry trends relevant to cosmetics and personal care.
- Analytical capability to assess marketing results using dashboards and engagement metrics to optimize campaign performance.
- Strong project management skills for juggling multiple campaigns and priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Experience coordinating trade shows and industry events, including booth strategies and lead nurturing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or advanced certifications in digital marketing are advantageous.
- Experience managing B2B campaigns aimed at key beauty brands, contract manufacturers, ingredient suppliers, and R&D units, particularly within testing or product development contexts.
- Experience executing B2C recruitment marketing for consumer testing initiatives with an emphasis on audience segmentation and funnel efficiency.
Skills & Competencies
- Proficient in English communication and storytelling.
- Skilled with Adobe Creative Suite, CRM platforms, marketing automation tools (Eloqua, HubSpot), and survey tools like Qualtrics preferred but not required.
- Ability to efficiently manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, professional setting.
- Strong B2B and B2C marketing expertise related to beauty or regulated industries.
- Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocols is a plus.
- Data-driven approach to marketing performance and recruitment analysis.
- Strategically smart and tactically skilled in marketing planning and execution.
Travel Requirements
Occasional travel ranging from 5% to 33% involving trade shows, conferences, or client meetings may be necessary.
Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated annual salary range is between 100000 and 115000 USD, varying according to qualifications and expertise.
