Role overview
The University of South Carolina system is seeking a Marketing & Events Specialist for the Education Abroad Office within PROV Global Carolina in Columbia, SC. This is a full-time, on-site professional role focused on promoting education abroad opportunities and helping recruit students to participate in them.
What the role involves
In this position, you will support marketing, communications, and student recruitment efforts for education abroad programs. You will also serve in a busy, multi-purpose office environment, where you will oversee the office website and social media channels, coordinate special events and functions, and take on other duties as needed.
Preferred experience and qualifications
The ideal candidate brings experience from living, working, or studying abroad, along with prior involvement in designing and leading trainings, workshops, or orientation sessions. An advanced degree is preferred. The role also calls for sound independent judgment, careful planning, and strong decision-making skills, plus the ability to communicate clearly, respectfully, and effectively with people at all levels.
Applicants should have excellent written, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills, and must be able to manage confidential and personal information with discretion.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
This job requires excellent verbal and written communication, strong computer literacy, and solid presentation skills.
