Role overview
This temporary Marketing Director position covers the UK and Ireland market. The role is remote, with occasional travel into London for important meetings. Reporting to the Managing Director for the UK & Ireland, you will shape the marketing direction for new products and help position them as a central part of the business. The assignment runs for 6 months and is paid at £750-900 per day.
You will lead a sizeable function, including 3 direct reports and an overall team of 30, and will be responsible for building strong food and beverage propositions, accelerating brand engagement, and driving consumer-focused innovation.
Key responsibilities
- Set and execute marketing and category plans that support growth and bring in new consumers.
- Steer the innovation and new product development process, with a focus on commercial viability and smooth delivery.
- Shape pricing, promotional discounting, and product range structure to improve revenue and margin performance.
- Control media spend and agency briefing activity to ensure campaigns deliver measurable return on investment.
- Lead activity across social channels, public relations, and influencer partnerships to support brand goals.
- Work closely with global stakeholders to translate consumer insights into effective brand activation.
- Manage the category marketing budget and support clear communication between teams and functions.
Candidate profile
- You should bring senior-level marketing experience gained in FMCG or similarly fast-moving retail settings.
- Strong background in category management and responsibility for profit and loss is essential.
- A degree in marketing or business is required, and an MBA would be an advantage.
- You need strong commercial judgement and the ability to turn consumer insight into action.
- Experience influencing senior stakeholders, including board-level audiences, and working within complex international structures is important.
- You must have a clear track record of creating and delivering marketing strategies successfully.
- Leadership capability, with a focus on developing and motivating teams, is a key requirement.
Working arrangement
The role is remote, although some travel to London is expected for key meetings.
