Role overview

This is a leadership opportunity with a fast-scaling consumer products brand for a Marketing Director who can help shape and execute bold brand-building plans. The role partners closely with the VP of Marketing and focuses on driving awareness, trial, loyalty, and sales through creative, data-backed campaigns across retail and e-commerce.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in CPG brand marketing, a strong network of industry resources, and the ability to connect with audiences ranging from Gen Z to family-focused shoppers. The brand is looking for someone who naturally understands pop culture, knows how to create content that moves both online and in-store sales, and wants to contribute in a high-energy, entrepreneurial environment.

Work arrangement

This position requires an in-office presence 3 to 4 days per week at the corporate office on Long Island. The role is based in New York and follows a hybrid schedule. Business travel may be required depending on company needs, with up to 10% to 15% travel expected, including in-person meetings in New York and/or Orlando.

Compensation and benefits

The compensation package includes base pay, bonus, and equity. All benefits are fully covered by the company, with no employee contribution.

What you will do

  • Drive the planning and execution of 360-degree marketing initiatives for the brand.
  • Own marketing activity across paid and organic social, influencer programs, public relations, brand partnerships, ecommerce, and experiential campaigns to support growth and measurable outcomes.
  • Manage partnerships with sports organizations, celebrities, media partners, and similar collaborators, ensuring activations use all available assets to build awareness, engagement, trial, and retail conversion.
  • Lead the creation and rollout of integrated campaigns across digital and offline channels in partnership with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Use consumer data, business insights, and trend analysis to guide campaign planning, optimization, and performance reviews.
  • Oversee marketing and content calendars, creative development, deployment, and reporting on analytics and insights.
  • Direct the production and delivery of marketing assets such as ads, social and influencer content, ecommerce creative, packaging, and sales collateral or point-of-sale materials.
  • Help maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity across every consumer touchpoint.
  • Monitor shopper, consumer, and industry trends to inform stronger communications, brand programs, and product improvements.
  • Work cross-functionally with sales, ecommerce, operations, and corporate development teams to support campaigns and projects.
  • Communicate marketing plans and updates clearly to sales, distributors, marketing stakeholders, and senior leaders.
  • Partner with commercialization and shopper marketing teams to build retail programs that strengthen the brand in physical stores.
  • Collaborate with the ecommerce director on conversion and retention creative, and evaluate campaign effectiveness and efficiency before and after launch.
  • Identify new marketing opportunities that align with the brand’s growth and awareness goals.
  • Prepare recaps, executive presentations, and other materials for senior management and sales teams.
  • Deliver a monthly internal summary of marketing activity and wins.
  • Track marketing budgets, spend, and invoices to keep financial records current.
  • Lead and support 2 to 3 direct reports, while also coordinating expectations and deliverables with cross-functional contributors on short- and long-term projects.
  • Represent the brand’s values in both professional and social settings.
  • Stay deeply informed on consumer behavior, competitive activity, and category trends.
  • Contribute positively to team culture and help maintain a fun, collaborative workplace.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree is required.
  • At least 8 years of relevant marketing or brand management experience in a CPG environment, including time in a startup setting.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience managing marketing team members.
  • Demonstrated success building brands and running disruptive integrated campaigns that create consumer impact and drive growth in retail and ecommerce.
  • Strong project management ability along with excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • A balanced mix of strategic thinking, creativity, analytical ability, and attention to detail.
  • Hands-on experience supporting campaigns from strategy through launch, with strong review and analysis skills.
  • Experience leading social media strategy, execution, and day-to-day management.
  • Proven success with influencer marketing, preferably in an in-house capacity.
  • Experience managing external agencies such as creative, media buying, social, and PR partners from RFP stage through contract negotiation, onboarding, and ongoing oversight.
  • Experience evaluating and managing digital and traditional media buys is preferred.
  • Strong event management, multitasking, and presentation skills; copywriting ability is a plus.
  • Experience working with external production vendors and agencies.
  • Strong knowledge of snacks and enthusiasm for the better-for-you category is an advantage.
  • Self-driven and capable of executing at a high level.
  • Comfort working independently while also collaborating across teams and taking initiative when needed.
  • Highly organized, entrepreneurial, and comfortable in a small, fast-moving brand environment.
  • Flexible and adaptable in response to shifting priorities.
  • Demonstrated team leadership and the ability to influence others while supporting an inclusive, motivating culture.
  • Advanced comfort with Microsoft Office tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, OneDrive, and Teams; Shopify and Klaviyo experience is a plus.
  • Strong presentation-building skills; Photoshop and Illustrator are helpful.
  • Passion for fitness, wellness, and pop culture, along with an existing network of brand and influencer contacts.
  • A desire to do work differently and build something distinctive.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to take ownership and handle hands-on tasks.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement from the Long Island office.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% to 15% as needed.
