Job Overview
The Marine Supervisor's primary responsibility is overseeing and monitoring the marine operations conducted by or for the company. This role ensures strict adherence to international standards, classification societies, flag state requirements, local regulations, and internal company procedures. A critical aspect involves contributing to and managing robust vetting and monitoring processes for marine crews, vessels, and contractors to minimize major marine risks throughout operations.
Job Scope
- Responsible for supporting over 8 vessels.
- Managing contracts for more than 8 entities.
- Performing audits on 16 or more vessels annually.
- Handling more than 5 calls for tender each year.
Key Responsibilities
- Foster a safety-first culture, aiming for an incident-free work environment.
- Ensure all marine activities comply with the company's health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Advocate and oversee strategies and technologies aligned with the company's greenhouse gas emission reduction goals.
- Assist in marine incident investigations by identifying root causes and documenting lessons learned.
- Promote cost-awareness and efficiency within marine operations to deliver sustainable value.
- Collaborate with leadership on developing and reviewing company marine standards and guidelines (CMS).
- Support local talent growth by facilitating development plans and knowledge transfer.
- Encourage effective communication and collaboration among key stakeholders to resolve issues timely.
- Implement and monitor CMS rules and standards concerning marine crews and vessels according to international and national standards.
- Maintain a thorough marine vetting and assurance program ensuring company charter vessels and crews meet all regulatory and procedural requirements.
- Manage compliance of vessels and owners with contract and procedural obligations.
- Drive operational improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Provide regular updates to senior management (N+1 & N+2) on marine activity trends, highlights, and concerns.
- Support project teams with expertise in operational standards, safety procedures, and best practices.
- Participate actively in marine industry forums.
- Provide backup support for the Marine Supervisor role during absences or operational demands.
Work Schedule
This position is offshore-based, requiring work onboard company chartered vessels on a 28 days on / 28 days off rotational schedule, with occasional onshore assignments at the Doha office.

Education & Experience
- Academic qualification: Master Mariner, Chief Engineer, Marine Warranty Surveyor, Merchant Naval Officer/Engineer, or an equivalent degree.
- Minimum of 8 years marine and offshore installation experience, with over 2 years in a senior supervisory position.
- Strong background in dynamic positioning (DP) systems, operations, trials, and standards.
- Extensive knowledge of marine operations supporting offshore oil and gas endeavors.
- Proficient understanding of international maritime regulations, standards, and codes.
- Experienced in marine assurance protocols and technical report writing.
