Role Overview
The Manufacturing Process Engineering Specialist will focus on designing, improving, developing, and implementing production methods that strengthen safety, quality, output, efficiency, and waste reduction across the plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and keep standard operating procedures and centerlines current so production remains consistent and aligned with quality and safety expectations.
- Drive day-to-day performance improvement initiatives, including higher line speed, better yield, lower scrap, and improved labor productivity.
- Work closely with R&D, project engineering, quality, and maintenance teams to solve production issues and support the successful rollout of new equipment and processes.
- Maintain a strong presence on the shop floor, review equipment and process performance, identify improvement opportunities, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Review production data, spot trends, and convert findings into practical recommendations for process optimization.
- Stay current on industry developments, new technologies, and regulatory expectations that affect manufacturing processes.
- Facilitate focused Kaizen events and guide teams through structured improvement activities.
- Build and update value stream maps, bottleneck studies, and loss Pareto analyses to identify priorities and growth opportunities.
- Use statistical process control and related quality tools to track performance and support continuous improvement.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Three to five years of experience in production, maintenance, or process engineering within a manufacturing setting, ideally in food manufacturing.
- Practical experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process-improvement methods.
- Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, and AI agent creation and maintenance.
- Willingness to travel to multiple sites in the GTA and support afternoon and weekend shifts as required.

Compensation
The posted salary range for this role is CAD 75,000 to CAD 85,000 per year. Final pay will depend on experience, skills, education, training, and organizational needs, while also considering internal equity.
