Job description

Role overview

This opportunity is for a detail-oriented Manual QA Engineer to support a partner company in Ireland. The hiring partner handles applications and the next stages of the process. The role focuses on safeguarding the quality of web products and internal CRM systems in a fast-moving product setting.

You will work closely with product managers and developers to shape quality from the start of the development cycle, not just at the testing stage. The position involves hands-on testing, defect tracking, collaboration on feature decisions, and helping raise product quality standards across the team.

Key accountabilities

  • Review business and technical needs to build clear test scenarios and detailed test cases for new features.
  • Carry out manual checks across web apps, internal CRM tools, email campaigns, and push notification journeys.
  • Run functional, regression, smoke, usability, and UI/UX tests to confirm product stability and consistency.
  • Check API behavior with tools such as Postman, Swagger, or similar, using both positive and negative test coverage.
  • Use browser developer tools to inspect logs, network requests, console errors, and runtime behavior.
  • Log defects with clear reproduction steps, supporting evidence, and prioritization details.
  • Join sprint planning, assess risks, and contribute to quality-focused discussions throughout delivery.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to strengthen test processes, documentation, and overall quality practices.
  • Share feedback that improves usability, reliability, and the overall user experience of the product.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of hands-on manual QA experience for web-based products.
  • Practical exposure to CRM systems, email marketing campaigns, and customer communication workflows.
  • Good grasp of SDLC, STLC, testing methods, and test design approaches.
  • Experience validating APIs with Postman or a comparable tool.
  • Ability to prepare test plans, test cases, and well-structured bug reports in Jira or similar systems.
  • Working knowledge of databases such as MongoDB, BigQuery, DataGrip, or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with Git-based workflows, including basic version control and code review practices.
  • Understanding of CI/CD concepts and exposure to platforms such as GitLab.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, or debugging tools like Grafana, Lens, Charles Proxy, or Fiddler.
  • Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
  • Test automation experience or scripting repetitive QA tasks is a strong plus.

Benefits and additional information

  • Remote work with flexible scheduling options.
  • 20 paid vacation days each year.
  • 15 paid sick leave days annually.
  • Extra paid leave for family-related occasions.
  • Additional leave for public holidays.
  • Comprehensive medical insurance.
  • Reimbursement support for sports and wellness expenses.
  • Equipment support or reimbursement for personal work tools.
  • Financial and legal assistance programs.
  • Access to team-building activities, company merchandise, and engagement initiatives.
  • Support for professional growth, including course reimbursement and English language training.
  • Individual Development Plans and performance-linked career growth.
  • Access to internal knowledge-sharing, book clubs, and professional communities.
  • The chance to work with experienced teammates on large-scale consumer technology products.
