Job description

Role Overview

As a Manager or Assistant Manager specializing in Chinese Translation, you will be integral to the Translation Department within the Public Communications Division. Your primary responsibility is to contribute to national initiatives by delivering translated communication materials of high quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support government-wide national projects and public communication efforts through accurate translation of materials.
  • Provide secretariat assistance to the National Translation Committee (NTC).

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Proficient bilingual ability in English and Chinese.
  • Between one and three years of relevant experience in translation or a related communications or language field.
  • Well-informed on current events and able to apply this knowledge effectively.
  • Capable of adapting and thinking critically within a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management.
  • Prior secretariat experience is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with translation technologies such as Translation Management Systems, machine translation engines, AI-enabled translating solutions, and computer-assisted translation tools, or the willingness and ability to swiftly learn emerging language technologies.
  • Strong digital literacy with proficiency in Microsoft 365, collaborative platforms, and AI-based productivity tools.
