The Turnaround & Restructuring team collaborates closely with the broader Deal Advisory group, which provides extensive financial advisory services including Mergers & Acquisitions, Valuations, Infrastructure and Projects, Restructuring, Transaction Services, and Debt Advisory. Our analysts leverage strong commercial insight alongside sector-specific knowledge to deliver significant value to clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage turnaround and restructuring projects to ensure timely delivery, adherence to budget, and achievement of client objectives.
- Develop strong, trust-based relationships with senior executives, mid-level managers, legal advisors, and lending institutions involved in engagements.
- Conduct thorough financial analyses to diagnose client challenges and formulate restructuring solutions such as cost-efficiency initiatives, working capital enhancements, accelerated M&A processes, refinancing strategies, and exit planning.
- Create and oversee project plans, define terms of reference, and manage workflow to ensure engagement goals and risk considerations are clearly articulated and addressed.
- Prepare and evaluate cash flow forecasts including sensitivity analyses to support decision-making.
- Collaborate with other Deal Advisory disciplines within KPMG locally and nationally, including participation in due diligence and debt advisory projects.
Candidate Profile
- Possess over five years of professional experience, notably within Corporate Finance, Financial Restructuring, Turnaround, or Insolvency contexts.
- Experience in corporate insolvency is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills capable of engaging stakeholders across operational and financial functions at various organisational levels.
- Knowledge of the legal frameworks governing restructuring and insolvency processes.
- Proven success in business development, including client attraction and self-promotion capabilities.
- Financial modelling skills are beneficial.
- Holds membership or qualifications from relevant professional bodies.
- Demonstrated leadership and management experience of teams, guiding both their technical and professional development.
